Yoga and Me

After a full lifetime of working J.O.B.s just to pay the rent, I decided to do what I love and love what I do. My 2 passions in life are Yoga and Photography. This website fulfills the first passion by taking my practice all over the world and sharing those journeys with you. If I inspire others to do the same then so much the better!

When people asked me about my yoga practice, I used to tell them that I had been practicing for 20 years and then 25 years and then 30 years and then I said "whoa" what am I saying? Did I really want people to start taking out their calculators to figure out my age? My vanity meter kicked in and now I just say that I have been practicing since I was six!

My earliest memories of asanas/poses are sitting in Hero pose (no one else seemed to be able to do this) and walking around on my knees in full Lotus. This freaked people out; which made it even more appealing. Honestly I didn't know what I was doing, but it came to me naturally.

Richard Hittleman's PBS TV series, was my first formal introduction to asanas when I was 21. At the time, there were no classes anywhere else. Years later, my favorite teacher confessed that was how she first started too. Thanks to the Baby Boomer generation (my generation), you can find a studio on almost every corner and strip mall and classes in most gyms.

Now that I have many great teachers, I work mainly on mechanics and perfecting my asansas. The best place to mature your practice is to increase the intensity at a retreat vacation. However, when I first started looking for this type of vacation, I quickly became overwhelmed. There were so many choices in so many places. There were also some reports of nightmares that scared me off! The purpose of this type of getaway is to indulge in concentrated YOU time, not all of the endless details that need to be planned out that may not pan out.

That is where the idea for this website came to me. This will be a review based website with all of the details of the best retreat for YOU! If you have had a wonderful experience at a retreat, please go to my reviews page and tell me all about it and in appreciation, you will receive a FREE copy of my Yoga Retreat Planner. If you are looking for a great retreat, give me a review of your fantasy yoga retreat and I and then check back regularly at the posted reviews to find the perfect retreat for you and I will still send you a FREE copy of my Yoga Retreat Planner, so you can start to plan your retreat immediately. You know what they say about sending a wish to the universe.

To fulfill my passion of photography, I will be documenting all along the way. You can see where I've been by visiting my gallery. (See link below)

Please visit my site often to see what develops.

Namaste!
